About us
Red Flag Report is an independent website that tracks the scams, frauds and cons targeting Americans — and explains, in plain English, how they work and how to avoid them.
How we work
Every story is built on official or verifiable sources, such as the Federal Trade Commission, the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center, state attorneys general and established news organizations. We link to those sources in every article so you can check the facts yourself. When a figure changes, we update the story and its date.
Who we are
Red Flag Report is written and edited by Marc Colomé Serra, an industrial engineer based in Barcelona, Spain.
By day, Marc works in quality engineering in the automotive industry. His job is to find defects before they reach the customer: spot the pattern, trace the root cause, and stop it from happening again. Red Flag Report applies that same mindset to fraud. Every scam follows a script, and once you can see the script, it stops working.
Marc started this site after watching how fast scams were spreading — and how often the people losing money had simply never heard of the trick being used on them. Each story here is built from official data and verifiable reporting, with every figure linked to its source, because in this subject accuracy is the whole point.
Spotted a scam we should cover, or an error in a story? Marc reads every message at skillflowlabai@gmail.com.
